2006 Aglianico

80% Aglianico    10% Barbera    10% Charbono  

Type of Grape: This grape is as uncommon as it is bold and tempestuous. Only 150 acres of this grape are grown in all of California.  It is a southern Italian native with dark and at times dense tannins offering opportunity and pitfalls to the vintner.  Fully ripened Aglianico offers great color, deep blackberry flavors with softened but abundant tannins.   

Description of Wine:  A bold, tempestuous, Italian style wine with dark tannins, blackberry and leather undertones.
